How to Restart Android Activity and still call onsaveinstancestate -

i know if there way restart activity same activity with

finish(); startactivity(getintent());

and able phone call onsaveinstancestate save info used on restart of activity. guess onsaveinstancestate not called since finish() beingness used.

if there other efficient method please allow me know.
