memory - top shows negative RES size -



memory - top shows negative RES size -

in netbsd scheme seeing issue top command displays -ve value resident memory. checked memory leaks in code , did not find any. in fact case shell(sh) process [not shown in pic below].

i curious if bug in user programme can cause behaviour. if true, wanted understand how may reproduce issue.

also if there known bug in netbsd or gcc library may cause problem.

top relatively poor cousin of native tools examining process state on netbsd (despite having been adapted / ported netbsd). wouldn't surprised @ if contained bugs related integer conversions (signed/unsigned, overflow, etc.). original top code isn't of highest quality in first place.
