java - Hibernate vs JDBI -
i building web service using dropwizard framework (version 0.7.0). involves executing read-only queries database, manipulating result set , returning info set. using mysql database engine. since new framework, want know alternative should choose: hibernate or jdbi.
i've used both of these. i've used hibernate gorm in grails in traditional spring app , i've used jdbi in dropwizard.
i have enjoyed simplicity of jdbi , here couple of reasons why prefer on hibernate.
i know sql going executed acquire info i'm requesting. hibernate, can have lot of messing around hql , configuring objects intended have returned. resort sql, have difficultly of mapping results domain objects, or give , allow hibernate fetch them 1 one.
i don't need worry lazy/eager fetching , how going impact query time on big info sets.
mappings aren't complicated because manage them on own , don't have rely on getting right combinations of annotations , optimizations.
for case in particular, sounds you'd want lightweight because don't have lot of utilize cases , jdbi on hibernate in opinion.
java sql hibernate dropwizard jdbi
