freeradius - Free Radius - Session Timeout, Idle Timeout (disconnecting idle users) -

freeradius - Free Radius - Session Timeout, Idle Timeout (disconnecting idle users) -

i wondering if help clear me.

i using freeradius cisco nas. have command fo free radius, not have command of cisco.

i noticing when user reboots equipment, termination message sent freeradius/the nas release ip , kill connection. seems working expected , next client can pick ip. however, should user unplug equipment or have powerfulness cut, termination message never sent , have ip allocated dead user. if had 300 ips , 250 people, if had powerfulness cuts, 50 able online other 250 ips allocated albeit not in use.

can tell me can locate settings specify when release ip if user idle or attribute needs specified, ie check every 2 minutes , if user idle, disconnect session , release ip next user.

there's nil bundled freeradius this. recommended way perform dead session detection record interval between accounting start/accounting interval packets, , turn on interim updates on nas.

if session goes stale (no interims received) radclient binary can used send false accounting stop close out session.

if nas supports session-timeout , idle-timeout can homecoming those, doesn't help in case of powerfulness failure takes out nas well.
