geoip - Geolocate IP address with GeoLite2 database -
i have list of ip addresses (ipv4 in form 122.xxx.xxx.xxx) want assigned pair of latitude , longitude coordinates; happy approximate location. downloaded free geolite2 database (here) don't understand how should proceed, since ip info in database stored ipv6 (on have no experience).
is there way proceed? should utilize drop after ::ffff: , match rest of string ipv4? or should drop part of ipv4, want geolocate?
the geolite2 database in hybrid notation forwards compatible. while dropping after ::ffff: work, recommend opposite, convert ips hybrid notation , match. (just add together ::ffff: front). should help if ever have start supporting ipv6.
