Does anyone know why Ubuntu can't shut down even though I ask it to? -

i have done research , seems mutual problem , installed latest ubuntu today on computer. however, reason when click shut downwards button restarts instead of shutting down. have tried terminal commands shut down, don't work either. restarts itself.. there anyway can powerfulness off without having resort manually holding computer's powerfulness button?

i tried grub update things too, commands forums don't seem work anyways that's 1 solution wouldn't work.

try 1 on terminal:

sudo init 0
