onChange Trigger not firing when using Google Drive API -

i have backend ruby app updates files in google drive using api. on files have google app scripts running. having issue when update file in google drive using backend ruby script google app script onchange or onedit triggers don't fire. fire if go file through browser , edit myself. know why is? or work around it?

the apps script onchange , onedit triggers don't respond changes made google drive api or older google sheets api. respond changes made user in browser ui.
