Arduino Mega (Atmega 1280) avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00 -

i have received arduino mega 1280 , trying load firmware within it, getting 1 time , 1 time again same error :

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00

i have checked other posts presents in issue , sure these points:

i using right com port i selecting right board

moreover have uninstalled , installed arduino drivers ( have windows 8 , have disabled digital firm stuff) , can see in device manager virtual com port despite name not "arduino something" "usb serial port" ,is bad signal?

are there other options must consider before blame bootloader?

well, mega 1280 has ft232, should see "usb serial port".

as error, when utilize custom-made boards without automatic reset feature. seek press reset button when ide says "started downloading firmware" (or similar). press , release it, if want reset arduino.

if doesn't work, see if rx, tx , l led blink during downloading. if rx , tx shut downwards there problem serial communication, if l led off problem bootloader.

if nil works.. seek flashing bootloader again..
