i started larn android app development , seek download necessary platforms sdk manager. when take packages download in api 21, there google apis packages, , wondering these are? should download them beginner android? documentation on google apis helpful, if share me.

also have question, read android developer site sdk platforms here, says should download latest android api(which 21 in case) , lowest api(which 14 me) want support. should download bundle between these 2 apis making apps back upwards them well. or enough? asking question because in videos watched, installed other packages too.

no, don't need download google apis option. need compile against google apis if developing emulator , using google play services in app (or similar).
