Can I add a sitemap that contains sitemapindex?

For example:

sitemapindex.xml contains

  & lt; Sitemapindex & gt; & Lt; Sitemap & gt; & Lt; Loc & gt; La.example.com/sitemap.xml< / Loc & gt; & Lt; / Sitemap & gt; & Lt; / Sitemapindex & gt;  

is included in sitemap.xml
