PostgreSQL: on-the-fly duplication of the database on the same server -

we using same postgresql 9.3 server both production , development.

so re-create of existing production database development purposes. precise, insert/update/delete events come production should placed copy. reverse replication not needed. how can that?

ps: please take business relationship total master-slave replication not suitable. have no chance deploy 1 more postgresql server @ moment.

upd: pg_dump/pg_restore not case too, because crash updates done developers in database.

sounds looking replication scheme slony or bucardo

slony uses triggers replicate info should work without much hassle here. , bucardo uses notify pretty much same.

for local setup recommend slony if offer developers local database (i.e. local machine) recommend bucardo instead offers asynchronous replication.
